The Relationships between Leadership Behavior and Administrational Effectiveness of the Private School Administrators under The Office of Private education Yala Province
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were (1) to study the leadership behavior of private school administrators under the Office of Private Education, Yala Province; (2) to study the administrational effectiveness of private school administrators under the Office of Private Education, Yala Province; (3) to compare leadership behavior of private school administrators under the Office of Private Education, Yala Province, by sex, age, educational level, work experience and school size; (4) to compare the administrational effectiveness of private school administrators under the Office of Private Education, Yala Province, by sex, age, level of education, work experience and school size; and (5) to study the correlation between leadership behaviors and administrational effectiveness of private school administrators under the Office of Private Education, Yala Province. The samples of this study consisted of 348 private school teachers under the Office of Private Education, Yala Province, in the academic year of 2015. The study instrument was a questionnaire. Statistical analyses included percentages, means, standard deviations, t-test, F-test and Pearson's correlation coefficient.
The study results were as follow:
1. The overall leadership of private school administrators under the Office of Private Education, Yala Province, was at a high level. Administrators also had high level of leadership in each orientation of leadership. Effectiveness Orientation had the highest mean leadership score, while Relation Orientation had the lowest mean leadership score.
2. The overall administrational effectiveness of private school administrators under the Office of Private Education, Yala Province, was at a high level. Administrators also had high level of leadership in every aspect of administration. Academic affairs had the highest mean score, while Budgeting affairs had the lowest mean score.
3. Leadership of private school administrators under the Office of Private Education, Yala Province, significantly differed by sex, age, work experience and school size at alpha=0.05. Leadership level did not significantly differ by level of education.
4. Administrational effectiveness of private school administrators under the Office of Private Education, Yala Province, significantly differed by age, work experience and school size at alpha=0.05. Administrational effectiveness did not significantly differ by sex and level of education.
5. Among private school administrators under the Office of Private Education, Yala Province, leadership behaviors and administrational effectiveness had high level of positive correlation.
