Abstract:
To study the level of clinical nurse specialist role performances such as clinical practice role, educator role, researcher role, consulting role, leadership role and ethical decision making roles, perceived by certified advanced practice nurse and compared perception of the CNS role performances by certified advanced practice nurse who had different personal factor in age, workplace, work position, work experience after CNS certified and certified nursing specialist. The sample consisted of 157 cases of advanced practice nurses. The questionnaire was developed by the researcher using concept of advanced practice nursing role. The questionnaire comprises of 40 questions of CNS role performances (6 dimensions) and verified content validity by 5 experts was .80, and the coefficient of Cronbachs alpha reliability was .96. Statistical techniques used for data analysis by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and F-test. Major finding : 1. Mean score of CNS role performances perceived by certified advanced practice nurse was at the high level (X mean = 3.93, SD = .60). The highest level is clinical practice role (X mean = 4.15, SD = .53). The higher level is consultant role (X mean = 4.01, SD = .65). Educator role (X mean = 3.93, SD = .72). Advocate role (X mean = 3.89, SD = .65). Administrative/Change agent role (X mean = 3.87, SD = .72) and the lowest level is researcher role (X mean = 3.77, S.D = .73) 2. There is no significant different of role performance at level 0.5 by certified advanced practice nurse who different in age, workplace, work position, work experience after CNS certified and certified nursing specialist.
