Abstract:
This thesis involves research for solving the tardiness problem in petrol distribution from petrol terminal to the gas stations. The focus is on each petrol type tank truck and loading arm suitable allocation. The purpose is the reduction of time spent from customer's order receipt until the tank truck arrival at the gas station (response time) to be not more than 6 hours as per customer's requirement. The simulation technique is used to reallocate each petrol type tank truck and loading arm for the reduction of response time until it is lower than 6 hours with lowest investiment and expenses. The simulation for the studying of the effect between the number of tank truck & loading arm and response time shows that the increase of the number of tank trucks from 10 trucks to 11, 13 and 18 trucks, respectively for Benzene 91, Benzene 95 and Diesel and the decrease of the number of each petrol type loading arm from 3 to 2 arms can improve the response time to be not more than 6 hours. The investiment and expenses for 13 trucks increment is 42,509,313.60 Baht. Three idle loading arms are assigned for another usage and an extra income of 89,902,080 Baht is obtained. Therefore, the tardiness problem can be solved and a net income of 47,392,776.40 Baht is achieved in the process. The tank truck and loading arm allocation can solve the tardiness problem and involve not much investment and expenses. It concentrated on tank truck and loading arm waiting time decrement. Most of the previous works in this area concentrated on transportation time and round decrement. However, the use of these 2 methods together enables the terminal to transport petrol more efficiently, and helps reduce cost and ensures more customer satisfaction.
