Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to study the narrative techniques in M.R.Kukrit Pramojs 6 historical literary works, consisting of Krisda Piniharn Un Bodbang Midai, Krong Kradook Nai Tou, Shak Yeepoon, Pama Sia Muang, Farang Sakdina, and Yew, to demonstrate that the author has used the narrative techniques in expressing his attitudes towards various things and the uniqueness of the language used to promote the said set of writing pieces to stand out as the works that give both knowledge and entertainment. About the narrative techniques, the researcher has found that author has used the narrative techniques to give knowledge and understanding in promoting academic writing through historical knowledge together with foreign historical technical terms for future use in more advanced research. In the same time. The readers are able to understand better the stories presented with the comparison in order to create understanding. The author has also used the narrative techniques to entertain by inserting the created narrating dimensions with smoothness in presentation, making the history which is hard to understand become more entertaining and readable. Moreover, the author has used the narrative techniques to demonstrate the attitudes by setting up the way how to make an observation and guess the thoughts of the people in the history, including the way to make sarcasm, giving the readers both knowledge and entertainment. The use of language, the researcher has found the special characteristics of the language in writing, whether it is the coining of new words, the choice of words and the play with words and wording, all of which demonstrate the authors attitudes towards various things. Besides, there is a use of the spoken language helping entertaining the readers. The language used in the said historical literary works, therefore, is the one that completely gives knowledge, entertainment and the authors attitudes lurking behind. The uniqueness of M.R.Kukrit Pramojs narrative techniques and the use of the language in his historical literary works demonstrate the authors attitudes towards various things and make the whole set of works outstanding, obviously giving knowledge and entertainment.
