Abstract:
The purpose of this study is focus on warehouse management of frozen mackerel using EOQ. The objective of this study to find the appropriate amount of ordering frozen mackerel (EOQ), re-order point and safety stock. Its make understanding for how much frozen mackerel quantity that will get most economical and when we must order to buy a fish. In this present, we determine amount of material to purchase by the experience. Therefore, the quantity of the purchase is inappropriate, that make waste of cost in purchase.
The processes of this study finds information about sales volume and analyze information from the purchase of frozen mackerel in the past three years between 2012 and 2014 that has list of study around 12 items. By applicant theory of economic order quantity (EOQ) combine with reorder point together to reduce the lack of product and safety stock.
As the result, the improvement can reduce material cost 18.87% per year, cost to purchase frozen mackerel reduce 15.88% per year, cost of carrying raw frozen mackerel reduce 84.39% per year and cost of frozen mackerel inventory reduce 18.59% per year.
