Abstract:
Most of the manufacturing currently and considerably emphasizes on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Due to economic changes and higher level of competition, many business organizations realize the need to apply the ERP software; in particular, the CEOs could easily understand the organization management as a whole. This research aims to study factors/conditions which affect the application of ERP software. The total of 322 CEOs who use SAP ERP in Bangkok were selected as a research sample. The data was collected through survey and then was analyzed by using various statistical tests: percentage, mean, standard deviation, Chi square, ANOVA as well as Scheffe method for the pair comparisons analysis. The significant level for the statistic tests was set at .05. The research findings: 1. The service business especially accounting/financial departments which had less than 100 employees, was the type of business most using SAP ERP. 2. The factors for choosing SAP ERP for management were 1) the capacity for monitoring every step and process led to affective implementation 2) Sales and team of consultants were knowledgeable and expertise 3) The trainers were always be able to give advices and suggestions as well as to train a small group of the users. According to the test of relationship between factors for choosing SAP ERP for management and the general information of the business, the result shows that 10 items were correlated. In addition, in terms of the tests of mean differences of factors/conditions which affect the application of SAP ERP, which was categorized based on the general information of the business, the result indicates that 58 items were significantly different.
