Abstract:
The purpose of this independent research was to study the work life balance and identify critical factors which affected the work life balance of salesperson in a retail store in Bangkok.
The sample group in this study composes of 205 permanent sale workers of a retail store in Bangkok. Questionnaires were used to collect data using simple random sampling method. Statistics used to analyze data were descriptive statistics including Frequency, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation. The inferential statistics included Independent Samples t-test, One-Way ANOVA, Least Significant Difference (LSD), Multiple Correlation Coefficient (R), and Multiple Linear Regression at statistically significant level of 0.05.
The results revealed that the differences in gender, age, marital status, level of income and duration of work affect the balance of work life of salespeople in a retail store in Bangkok. The degree of participation, degree of satisfaction and overall aspect were different. Age and duration of work affected the work life balance. Different time management and different income also affected the balance of work life. The analysis of happy work life consisted the following of variables: Happy body, Happy heart, Happy society, Happy brain, Happy money and Happy family that influenced the balance of work life and formed the equation Ŷ [subscript T] = 0.823+ -0.097 X [subscript1] +0.079 X [subscript2] +0.171 X [subscript3] +0.106 X [subscript5] +0.234 X [subscript7] +0.233 X [subscript8] with prediction ability of 53.3% and multiple correlation coefficient value (R) of 0.739.
