Abstract:
This present research was a mixed method which aimed to 1) study the characteristic indicator of Thainess. 2) develop the model of promoting sustainable Thainess 3) study the result of the experiment by using the model of promoting sustainable Thainess. The sample were 542 non-formal education students in Bangkok. The research instruments consisted of the sustainable Thainess assessment form, a model assessment form, self-evaluation form, attitude test, and satisfaction form of sustainable Thainess learning programs. The data were analyzed and synthesized by using mean, standard deviation, item objective congruency index, content analysis, paired-samples ttest and exploratory factor analysis. The research results revealed that : 1. Totally the Thainess characters of non-formal education students were 68 indicators which classified into groups within 4 major factors - 1) Proundness in Thai consisted of 34 indicators, 2) Trusted in Thai consisted of 15 indicators, 3) Thai manners consisted of 13 indicators, and 4) Thai culture consisted of 6 indicators. 2. The promoting sustainable Thainess model of non-formal education students were named Sustainable Thainesss Resurrection Model. This Model were comprised of 4 stages of learning process : 1) stimulate learning 2) modifying ideas 3) Action and 4) Review, and it also includes guideline of promoting sustainable Thainess consisted of fundamental beliefs / principles, way of supporting to learner, stakeholders / role and the conditional factors which affect the sustainable Thainess promoting. 3. The results of model using experiment found that the developed model was suitable. This model efficiency met the criteria. The non formal education students who participated in using the model made progress in their knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors as the characteristics of sustainable Thainess, increased 73 percents. Their satisfactions in the model were at high level (xˉ = 4.11 SD = 0.35). After the experiment ended for 3 months the follow up in characteristics of sustainable of Thainess of students found that they still had these characteristics. According to the group discussion, they suggested that : 1) to apply the developed model into the real work, the user should consider suitable activities planning for the context of students and field work area. 2) Activities within the model should be considered in order to efficiently integrate with life ways. 3) Problems and obstacles of employing activities model for enhancing the characteristics of sustainable Thainess ; - personnel, networks, and learning resources.
