THE STATE OF THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATION OPERATION BASED ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MASTER PLAN OF SCHOOLS UNDER THE OFFICE OF SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA 24
Abstract:
The purpose of this research were to study 1) the operation of the information and communication technology based on schools master plan under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 24 and 2) the problems and solutions in the development of the information and communication technology based on schools master plan under the Office of Secondary Education Service Area 24. The sample consisted of 220 school directors and teachers. The questionnaire and structured interview were used to collect the data. The statistical analysis of data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.
The results were as follows :
1. The overall operation of the information and communication technology based on master plan of the schools was at a high level (µ = 4.40). Considering in each aspect, sorted from the most to the least were the development of information technology personnel (µ = 4.51) followed by the application of information technology for learners (µ = 4.44), the use of information technology for educational management (µ = 4.30) and the distribution of information technology infrastructure for education (µ = 4.18), respectively.
2. The problems and solutions in the development of information and communication technology based on the schools master plan were as follows: 1) the use of information technology for learners aspect, it revealed the lack of electronic media center (Courseware Center). Thus, the schools should establish the electronic media center for teachers, students, and people who are interested in to be able to exchange their media, 2) the use of information technology for educational management aspect, it showed that the information center (IT Center) for linking and data exchanging in the networking schools was necessary. The schools should supply sufficient number of computers for classroom teaching especially for small-sized schools, 3) the development of information technology personnel aspect, the further research on information technology and their applications should be supported. That is, the private sectors should be allowed to train teachers and ICT personnel for educational development and the importance of research. 4) The distribution of information technology infrastructure for education aspect, the result revealed that the use of computer system and software should be legally in order to prevent the prosecution from the violation of copyright.
