Abstract:
The purpose of this research were: 1) to study the current of the academic preparation for entering the ASEAN community based on School-Based Management principles, and 2) to study the process of academic preparation for entering the ASEAN community based on School-Based Management principles. The populations are the people who are the administrator and teachers in the secondary educational service area office 3.The research instruments used for questionnaire and interview.
The research findings were as follows: 1) the overall current stage of the academic preparation for entering the ASEAN community based on School-Based Management principles from the questionnaire was at a high level were Decentralization(x̅ = 3.64). However, Return Power to People (x̅ = 3.29), was at a medium level. 2) The process academic preparation for entering the ASEAN community based on School-Based Management principles of schools under the secondary educational service area office 3 were found at a high level, comprising the committee on planning for ASEAN curriculum(x̅ = 3.89) and responsible for creating the ASEAN learning center in school(x̅ = 3.83). However, it was found that there was the academic preparation for entering the ASEAN community based on School-Based Management principles of schools comprising of The self-managing for mutual cooperation agreement on education (MOU) and the youth exchange cooperation between among organizations in ASEAN (x̅ = 2.19) was still at a low level
