Abstract:
Three kinds of organic solid waste; bengal almond leave (Terminalia catappa Linn.), rain tree leave (Samanea saman (Jacq.) Merr.) and tissue-paper were used as Decomposing material of flat-back millipede (Polydesmida). The experiment included two different treatments were the first, plastic rearing container without sand substrate and the second, plastic rearing container withsand substrate. Results of the first treatment shown weight reduction rate of three kinds of organic solid waste test were 2.80, 2.44 and 7.60 g/2 monts/ 30 millipeds, respectively and of the second treatment were 5.76, 4.62 and 7.56 g/2 months/30 millipeds, respectively. Quantitative analysis of nutrient sources in sand at the end of the experiment of three kinds of organic solid waste test were found that the increasing of organic carbon were 460, 720 and 630 mg/100 g sand, and of total nitrogen were 2.52, 1.50 and 2.31 mg/100 g sand, respectively, and also found the potassium more or less increasing equally in three kinds of organic solid waste test to be around 0.014%. From this study was also found that the optimum temperature and water content in sand for rearing milliped in laboratory condition were 23-27℃ and 8-10%, respectively.
