Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to analyze the happy organization concepts and approaches, to analyze and compare the management of private higher education institutions with the management of private organization based on the happy organization concept, to analyze the healthiness level of private higher education institution personnel and to propose change management strategies for private higher education institutions towards being happy organization. The sampling group included (1) seven experts on happy organization; (2) five executives of private organization; (3) seven administrators of private higher education institutions; (4) four hundred and five personnel of private higher education institutions; (5) three senior experts on happy organization for focus group disscussion (6) eight senior experts for strategy validation. Research instruments include document analysis forms, interview forms, questionnaire, forms for the validation of (draft) strategy. The data was analyzed using content analysis, frequency, means, standard devivation, t- test , PNImodified for prioritizing the necessity of the development towards happy organization. Research results were as follows 1. Well-being of a happy organization concept has 6 dimensions: (1) healthiness (2) family (3) economy (4) work (5) social and environment (6) wisdom. The approaches as to be the happy organization are as follows: leaders develop organization using to happy organization concept, establish unit responsible for implementation of happy organization, and build happy organization culture. 2. The analysis and comparison of the private higher education institution management with private organization management utilizing the happy organization concept show that administrators of private higher education institutions share mutual emphasis with executives of private organization on the following dimensions (1) human resource dimension is personnel training on happy work with other (2) environment and facilities dimension is improving workplace to be comfortable, clean and providing good quality equipment and technology (3) general management dimension is helping each other, teamwork and giving voice to personnel. (4) financial dimension is executives in private organization give priority to pay salary to personnel higher than the standard and profit sharing with personnel, such as intensive money or bonus which is different from private higher education institution administrators that give priority to providing scholarship for personnels children. 3. The investigation of the well-being level of personnel of private higher education institutions show that the first priority is provision of annual bonus and the second priority is child care service for personnels children and free shuttle bus service. 4. The change management strategies for private higher education institutions towards becoming happy organization named the Happy HERMES strategies has 6 strategic themes, 20 strategies and 102 projects/activities. The six strategies themes include (1) happy healthiness project (2) happy emotional quotient project (3) happy responsibility project (4) happy money project (5) happy engagement with organization project (6) happy stakeholder project.
