Abstract:
This study focuses on two different experiments. The first experiment involves the cultivation of different rice varieties on the same soil type with the same ecosystem (fertiliser application and water level control). It is hypothesised that the production of methane in the same ecosystem should be at the same level regardless of the rice varieties. the latter relates to cultivation of the same rice variety in different soil types with the same ecosystem. It is hypothesised that methane emission through the rice stem should be similar. The amount of methane emission is the combined product of the two systems. The production of gas in the rice field and the transportation of the gas through the rice plant. Gas mediation of each rice variety depends upon the plant characteristics, namely. Height and air space area in the stem. These two characteristics showed positive correlation with methane emission. the influence of soil type on the methane emission may be involved in both methane production. Where an appropriate amount of organic and nitrogen content were required to enhance the production of methane and in methane emission. Where the indirect influence of soil texture were not yet clarified.
