Abstract:
The purposes of this study were: to study the key success factors in managing of the forest:
case study in Nawamintararachini Maehongson Teak Forest, and to study the problems and difficulties
in managing of the Nawamintararachini Maehongson Teak Forest. The study was based on a survey
collecting data from a group of 388 people and 2 in-depth interviews with chief executives. The
research instrument was a questionnaire. The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean,
standard deviation, and hypothesis testing by T-test (One Sample T-Test).
The results of this study were as fllow; the key success factors was at a high level in
managing of the Nawamintararachini Maehongson Teak Forest were organizing and budgeting. The
key success factors was at a middle level were staffing and coordinating. The key success factors was
at a low level were planning directing and reporting.
Problems, however, still existed in managing of the Nawamintararachini Maehongson Teak
Forest. The lack of continuity in the monitoring and evaluation of the work plan, lack the
authority and scope of responsibility. Staffs and employees lack the motivation to work because
the salary was not enough to burden the cost. Discontinuity in policy matters due to the political
situation changes frequently and lack of participation from the local people. The budget was
limited and not sufficient to perform various tasks and personnel development.
