Abstract:
This independent study was carried out for the purpose of investigating the opinion concerning the tax rebate for the first-time car policy of the inhabitants in Pathum Thani Province. The samples used in the study consisted of 400 inhabitants over 21 years old who had never registered the cars under their names, and had tendency to buy the first-time cars. The questionnaire was used as the data gathering tool, and the data were analyzed using Frequency, Percentage, mean, Standard Deviation, as well as the inferential statistics including Independent Samples t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and Pearson Chi-Square.
The result of study demonstrated that the respondents expressed their opinion concerning the policy on air pollution, traffic jam, and fuel consuming at a high level, however, the opinion toward the overall policy conditions was shown at a moderate level. The respondents had a tendency to buy the first-time car within 4-6 months, needed 5 years hire-purchase with a 21-40% down payment, sought funds from financial institutes, made buying decision on the first-time car by themselves. The reasons to buy the first-time car were for travel convenience, and avoiding the problems of using mass transportation, moreover, the respondents intended to buy Honda cars for the reasons of the engine efficiency, capacity and safety respectively, moreover, the majority of the respondents had a tendency to buy the private cars.
The result of hypothesis testing showed that different gender, age, marital status monthly income, and occupation caused different opinions toward the peoples debts, and rising burden of spending. Different gender, age, marital status, monthly income, occupation, and level of education caused different opinions toward more hiring jobs, the growth of automobile industries and more money in circulation in the economic system.
