Abstract:
The objective of this research was to study the participation of Ramkhamhaeng University students on formal and informal of 5 activities, by classification according to faculties, student home town, number of credits earned, period of study, experience performance an relations of activity participation. Groups of samples in this study were 600 Ramkhamhaeng University students who registered in the first semester of academic-year 1998 who participated in formal activities 400 persons and 200 persons in informal activities, by using the questionnaires to collect data. The statistics used in data analysing were distribution of frequencies to find a percentage and hypotheses test by x2 (Chi - Square test). From the data in analysis it was found that participation in formal activities, most students participated in first academic and then in public service activities. Other group in informal activities, most students participated in public services as a first and then in academic activities. Finding and results of this research as followings:1. The characteristics of participation in formal and informal activities had related with faculties, student home town, and periods of study, but not related with numbers of credit earned and experience in activity performance.2. The participation in activities had related with student home town, but not related with faculties, periods of study, numbers of credit earned and experience in activity performance.3. The characteristics of activity of participation had related with 5 activities.
