A usability evaluation for government websites of nepal using fuzzy AHP
Abstract:
E-government expects web-services to be efficient and reliable. Usability studies estimate the quality of web pages where inputs are imprecise human perceptional data. Multi criteria decision making process used in normal Analytic
Hierarchy Process (AHP) cannot preserve the fuzziness of human judgment to web
page features. Although AHP is a suitable technique for those studies which equally
useful in both subjective and objective evaluation, however, when it is applied to
website evaluation, AHP is unable to preserve fuzziness of human perceptional data.
To evaluate the relative importance of such criteria and specific web-pages, an
improvement over AHP by introducing Fuzzy Sets is proposed in this thesis.
Moreover, a trapezoidal fuzzy number (TrFN) is used for fuzzy aggregation claiming
that trapezoidal fuzzy number covers more fuzzy area than triangular one. The
experimental results are depicted for relative importance of web features and the rank
of websites under evaluation. However, comparing with Triangular Fuzzy AHP, the
results obtained from the Trapezoidal Fuzzy AHP yield no significant differences.
