A study of implementation according to the second national elderly plan 2545-2564 B.E. by Tambon administrative organizations in Ubon Ratchathanis Mueang district
Abstract:
The research aimed to study the implementation according to the second national elderly plan 2545-2464 and to find the guidelines for the implementation according to the plan. The samples used in the research were 383 elderly aged 60 and over who lived and had been registered under Tambon administrative organizations in Mueang district of Ubon Ratchathani province, derived by a simple random sampling. The research instruments were the questionnaire and the interviews. Statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean and standard deviation.
The research findings were as follows:
1. The implementation according the second national elderly plan 2545-2564 by Tambon administrative organizations in Mueang district was moderate. Considering individual aspects, it was found that the aspect with a maximum value was the promotion and development for the elderly, followed by preparation for the elderly citizens, a protection for the elderly and dissemination of knowledge and evaluation. The aspect with a minimum value was personnel administration and development.
2. There were the guidelines for the implementation of the plan in five aspects. 1) On preparation of the quality elderly, they should be well prepared and informed to be quality citizens, there should be activities which could engage them to exchange knowledge and experiences. 2) On the promotion and development for the elderly, the community center for the elderly should be established in an appropriate way. 3) On the protection system for the elderly, there should be promotion and welfare for the elderly in the community. 4) On administration for an integrated development, a survey should be conducted on the elderly needs, the elderly should be given support to be a committee in running the activities held by Tambon administrative organization. 5) On processing, developing and disseminating knowledge on the elderly and evaluation, there should be a service center in the community to receive and disseminate essential information. The service and operation which would be useful to the elderly should be developed.
