Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this research was to study and compare the opinions of teachers and teachers college students in Uttaradit province concerning task and criterion profiles of elementary school teachers. Procedures 1. The data of this research were collected from 180 opinionaires which consisted of multiple choice, rating scale and check-list answers. These opinionaires were designed to evaluate general education, professional education, technical skills of teaching, attitudes and values and job description of elementary school teachers. 2. Opinionaires were sent to 250 teachers and 500 teachers college students in Uttaradit province. 3. The obtained data were analyzed in percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square and ʓ - test. The conclusions were presented in tables and explanation. Findings 1. The opinions of most teachers and teachers college students concerning general education, professional education, technical skills of teaching, attitudes and values and job description of elementary school teachers were satisfactory. 2. The status of being teachers and teachers college students influenced on some of the opinionare items. The results of some chi-square analysis were significant at the level of .05 whereas some were not significant. 3. The arithmetic mean of two groups on general education showed significant differences at the level of .05. 4. The arithmetic mean of two groups on professional education showed no significant differences at the level of .05.
