A Study of Teachers Conduct under the Code of Ethics of the Teaching Profession in Muang District Secondary Schools in Krabi Educational Service Area 13
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to investigate teachers conduct under the Code of Ethics of the Teaching Profession, to compare the opinions of school teachers, classified by their sex and education levels, towards teachers conduct under such ethics codes, and to identify the relationship between the teachers amount of work experience and the teachers conduct in Muang District Secondary Schools under the Krabi Educational Service Area 13.The sample for this study was 136 teachers who worked in the Muang District Secondary Schools under the Krabi Educational Service Area 13 during the academic year of 2013. The research instrument was a rating scale questionnaire with the overall coefficient reliability of .95. The data was analyzed using percentages, means, standard deviations, correlation coefficients, and t-tests.
The results of the study showed that:
The teachers conduct under the Code of Ethics of the Teaching Profession in Muang District Secondary Schools in Krabi Educational Service Area 13 was at the high level in all aspects respectively from the highest to the lowest: obligations towards students, self ethics, obligations towards colleagues, obligations towards the profession, and obligations towards society.
The teachers conduct, under the Code of Ethics of the Teaching Profession, of different sexes was not different. However, the teachers that were different in educational level had different conduct with statistical significance at the .01 level. The teachers amount of work experience had a positive relationship with the teachers conduct at a medium level with statistical significance at the .01 level.
