Abstract:
To study state,problems and needs for organizing short vocational training courses to Community College in Bangkok in the aspects of learning curriculum, instructors ability, studys activity including media and material, learning arena and evaluation toward the perception of learners, instructors, institution management team and community leaders,to compare with the perception in each aspects of different population that varies by genders, ages and a group of learners subjects, and to propose the essential guidelines for organizing short vocational training courses to Community College in Bangkok. The study methodology is separated into two ways which were launching the questionnaires with 50 questions of checklist style and analysis by using the Linkerts rating scale that representing the reliability at 0.95 points and conducting the interview with the sample groups by using the open-end questions. The analysis of research results was mainly using to be the key reason to support the suggestion guidelines for arranging the short vocational training courses for Community College in Bangkok. The sampling population was included 3,388 students who were currently enrolled in the first semester of the year 2010, 163 instructors, 10 institution management and community leaders. The statistic analysis tools are SD., t-test, ANOVA and Scheffs test. Additionally, the interview sampling group was also included 10 instructors, 10 institution management and 10 community leaders who came from different 10 communities. The research results were shown that there was high demand for short vocational training courses. Besides, there were some little problems in term of instructors ability, studys activities and learning arena. Additionally, there were moderate problems level that arise from measurement and evaluation. In terms of the need of learning curriculum and learning evaluation was shown in the moderate level. Also, there were low level of need that concerned about number of instructors, learning activities including media and material and place of study. The perception of sample group also varies which can be analyzed. It can be concluded that different sample groups had different level of perception as it was shown from the statistic value at 0.05 points such as community leaders have low level of perception comparing to the others. Moreover, different learners gender is not affect from the statistic value at 0.05 points. On the other hand, different learners age has different level of perception as it was shown from the statistic value at 0.05 points. For example, learners who aged 55 years and over have low level of perception comparing to the others who has age below 55 years old. Lastly, different academic knowledge backgrounds of learner have different level of perception such as learners who have an industrial academic background have the lower perception level. Therefore, there were some recommendations provided as the guidelines for organizing the short vocational training courses. Firstly, it was necessary to survey the demand of short training course in cooperate with the community and private organization to fulfill the learners need. Secondly, it is essential to develop instructors skill to assure that they have high potential teaching ability by further their education and send them to attend the significant training course. Third, it should emphasize on practical learning activities in several experience such as field trip and student internship. Forth, it should use high technology learning media and material in order to ensure the understanding of learners. Fifth, the learning arena or training place should comfortable and hygiene. Lastly, it is important that learning measurement and evaluation must be conducted regularly and have high standard to substantiate the learners skill.
