A study of the administrators leadership in the internal quality assurance process of the schools in the Silatharn network underthw supervision of the office of the primary educational sevice area in Krabi province
Abstract:
The objectives of the research were to study the level of leadership of the administrators of the schools, and to investigate problems and provide suggestions to develop the leadership of the administrators for the internal quality assurance process. The sample group consisted of 76 teachers who were working in 10 schools of Silatharn Network. Questionnaires with the level of reliability at 0.98 were used to collect the data. The statistics employed to analyse the collected data included frequency, means, and S.D.
The results of the study revealed that the overall level of leadership of the administrators was found to be high. The areas of leadership which was ranked highest was ethics, followed by participation, teaching, management, change, and solving problems respectively. The problems found by the teachers about the leadership of the administrators included : most administrators lacked continuous supervision and strategies to motivate teachers to work more effectively ; they paid little attention to the teachers opinions and did not appropriately exercise their power. Suggestions were that the administrators should supervise the implementation of the quality assurance continuously to the teachers and encourage them to work more effectively. The y should also enhance the participation of the teachers and assisted the teachers when facing problems about the quality assurance process.
