Abstract:
Purposes : 1. To study the opinions concerning problems in moral education instruction of social studies teachers and Mathayom Suksa Four students in Bangkok Metropolis with emphasis on objectives of teaching, content areas, teaching-learning activities, instructional materials, and evaluation. 2. To compare the opinions concerning problems in moral education instruction between social studies teachers and Mathayom Suksa Four students in Bangkok Metropolis. Procedures : Two sets of questionnaires on opinions concerning problems in moral education instruction consisted of check-list, rating-scale, and open-ended items, were constructed by the researcher, and sent to 600 Mathayom Suksa Four students and 50 social studies teachers which were simple randomly sampled from 30 government schools and 10 private schools in Bangkok Metropolis. The obtained data were analyzed by means of percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and t-test and explained descriptively. Conclusions : 1. The opinions concerning problems in moral education instruction of social studies teachers and students in 5 areas were generally as follow : The objectives of teaching : The social studies teachers opined that the problems on this area were moderate. The contents areas : The social studies teachers viewed that the problem on the content area were moderate, but the students viewed them as not serious. The teaching-learning activities : The opinions of both teachers and students concerning problems on teaching-learning activities were moderate. The instructional materials : The social studies teachers and the students opined that the problems on this area were moderate. The evaluation : The social studies teachers and the students viewed that the problems on this area were moderate. 2. The overall opinions concerning problems in moral education instruction between the social studies teachers and students were not significantly different at the .05 level.
