Abstract:
Purpose : The purposes of this thesis are as follow : 1. To survey the youths requirement for daytime nonformal educational Television programs. 2. To survey the youths interest regarding types and formats of the daytime Nonformal educational Television programmes. 3. To study the trends of the agencies responsible in the production of the daytime nonformal educational Television programmes. 4. To provide the guideline for the agencies responsible in decision making about what the daytime nonformal educational Television programmes should look like. Proceduer : The data was collected from the interviews and the questionnaires. The interviewings of programme organizers of the 4 Television stations in Bangkok and of educational television programmes producers were to survey the policies in the production of daytime nonformal educational television programmes. In addition, questionnaires were sent to the 500 youths of age between 1018 in Bangkok. The questionnaire data were analysed by statistical means of percentage and average means. Results : 1. The youths have more need for educational television programmes . 2. The youths needs are as follow : 2.1 The timing should be one hour. 2.2 The programme s content should be general knowledge that can be applied to formal education. 2.3 Scientific programme is needed. 2.4 The type of programme that should be presented is quiz-programme. 3. The government agencies responsible for the production of educational television programmes have strongly given their support for the daytime programmes, especially those programmes for children and housewives. On the other hand, the programme producers on the private sector think that these daytime programmes should be produced and telecast at the time when both the programme producers and the television stations are really ready. Channel 7 and Channel 3 have a definite plan to telecast daytime programme if the energy crisis is over. Types of programme they will telecast will be those emphasizing on education. Every television stations has already made an effort to promote the educational programme, especially those for children. In addition they think that daytime programmes will enrich the various groups of audience with the knowledge and entertainment. Furthermore, these programmes will also enable the children to use their-time in a more useful way.
