Abstract:
The purpose of this paper was to investigate the users satisfaction and expectation
with library services at the Central Library of King King Mongkuts Institute of Technology
, North Bangkok. A questionnaire was used to collect the data from 377 students and 311 from
faculty members who used the services of the Central Library of King King Mongkuts
Institute of Technology, North Bangkok. The total of population was 688.The statistics
used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation by using
content analysis and then summarized the data. The results of student users revealed that the majority of library users were male who were studying for Bachelor of Engineering. They visited the library on Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm spending 1- 2 days per week about 1- 2 hours. In addition, they used the library for borrowing/ returning. The results of faculty of members revealed that the majority of library users were female who were studying for Masters degree in Engineering. They visited the library on Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 4.00pm spending 1- 2 hours per time. In addition, they used the library for borrowing/ returning. It was found that, student users were satisfied with services at the Central Library at a high level. The most satisfactory variable was service (xˉ=3.74, S.D. = 0.55), followed by facilities (xˉ= 3.68, S.D = 0.74), staffs (xˉ= 3.63, S.D. = 0.63), materials (xˉ= 3.54, S.D. = 0.70), respectively. Furthermore, the faculty members were satisfactory at high level. The most satisfactory of faculty members variable was facilities (xˉ=3.73, S.D. = 0.62), followed by services (xˉ= 3.72, S.D. = 0.61), staffs (xˉ= 3.54, S.D. = 0.62), materials (xˉ= 3.32, S.D. = 0.68), respectively.
