Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to examine the peoples attitudes towards the behavior and the factors that influence alcoholic beverages drinking in Maung District MaePuem. Samples used in this study were a group of 1630 teenagers aged 10-22 years living in Maepuem District. Of these, 320 people were selected as samples. The tools for collecting data were questionnaire. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The findings of the study were as follows; 1. The Adolescents in MaePuem Muang District began drinking alcohol since they studied in secondary school grade 3 due to friends invitation. The most popular beverage among them is beer which they consumed one bottle a day with friends on the occasion of a party/festival. The places where they drink are a friend's houses because they are more comfortable. For the cost of alcohol, they pay about 120 baht whenever there is a party. In their opinions drinking alcohol doesnt affect learning. 2. The factors that influence drinking beverages containing alcohol were the social/ environment, friends. Alcohol drinking in the traditional festivals in the young adults eyes is normal and they tend to follow. The reason for the drinking of alcohol among adolescents is it was a challenge of life and interesting. The family factors also contribute to alcohol drinking among adolescents.
