Abstract:
The objective of this study was to examine the perception of knowledge management approach and to investigate the dominant factors influencing perception of knowledge management approach of personnel subjected to municipality in Surat Thani Province. In this study, the population comprised the panel of local executives, Division Heads, operational personnel subjected to municipality in Surat Thani Province, totaled 806 persons and the sample included 235 persons. The questionnaires were instrumental to collect data. T-test and F-test were implemented to analyze data.
The results showed that the respondents perceived the knowledge management approach in definition, objective, significance, procedure, benefits, problems and obstacles highly. A comparison between personnel factors and perception of knowledge management approach demonstrated that the differences in gender, job position, income and education have influenced the perception of knowledge management approach differently at statistically significant level .05. Regarding to psychological factors and perception of knowledge management approach of the respondents, it indicated that the differences in individuals need, attitude, past experience, and motivation have influenced the perception of knowledge management approach differently at statistically significant level .05. In addition, it found that the differences in organizational factors have influenced perception of knowledge management approach differently at statistically significant level .05.
