Abstract: This study conducted performance improvement evaluation of a web caching system on Thailand higher education network. It gives preliminary analysis of a UniNet Web Cache pattern and its effectiveness including an estimation of the impact of installing a web caching system on the performance of UniNet access. The study also indicates if it is beneficial to implement a web caching system for UniNet. This study proves that all Web Caches in an ICP Sibling mesh will gain benefit. A Web Cache still gets some benefit from an ICP Sibling since its own efficiency is high. Even a PC-based Web Cache of UniNet still gains a little benefit from the mesh. Implementation of a web cache also gives more cost effectiveness to universities/institutes, especially when implemented with an ICP Sibling feature from a high specification server without additional cost. Finally, a whole Web Cache in mesh helps to reduce total consumption of both domestic and international bandwidth.

Abstract: การประเมินประสิทธิผลการติดตั้งระบบเว็บแคช บนเครือข่ายสารสนเทศระดับอุดมศึกษา เป็นการวิเคราะห์รูปแบบการติดตั้งระบบเว็บแคช บนเครือข่ายสารสนเทศระดับอุดมศึกษา เบื้องต้น โดยเป็นการประเมินประสิทธิผลของเครือข่าย UniNet จากการติดตั้งระบบเว็บแคช และเป็นสิ่ง ช่วยในการตัดสินใจ การลงทุนติดตั้งระบบเว็บแคชบนเครือข่าย UniNet ทั้งระบบ การศึกษานี้ พิสูจน์ให้เห็นว่าการระบบเว็บแคช โดยการใช้ ICP Sibling mesh จะช่วย ให้เว็บแคชมีประสิทธิภาพเพิ่มขึ้น โดยสามารถใช้เครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ธรรมดา มาช่วยโดยอาศัย ประโยชน์จากคุณสมบัติดังกล่าว ซึ่งจะมีความคุ้มค่าในลงทุน ท้ายสุด ระบบเว็บแคช ยังคงสามารถ ช่วยลดความต้องการช่องสื่อสัญญาณ ทั้งภายในและต่างประเทศ
