Abstract:
In this competitive economy, most organizations have become more interested
in key performance indicators. Key performance indicators have been increasingly
important tools in helping organizations to evaluate and improve their performance in
order to be competitive and satisfy their customers requirements.
The purposes of this research are to design and develop a prototype in key
performance indicators (KPIs) which could help reflect the problem and evaluate the
performance of warehouses. The process of developing KPIs is based on a balance
scorecard concept. The development started by studying the warehouse structure, type
of products stored, storage pattern, warehouses machines and equipment, warehouse
problems, and the real work processes. After that, the KPIs of the warehouse were
determined. In this case study, there are 40 lists of recommended key performance
indicators. The last step was developing the program using Microsoft Visual C# 2005
which is a connecting part between database systems and users. The database systems
were developed by Microsoft SQL Server 2005
