Bank of Thailand employees' acceptance of the reorganization : a case study of employees in Bangkok
Abstract:
This study has the purpose of studying the level of acceptance, and
comparing the factors which affect the level of acceptance of the reorganization by the
employees of the Bank of Thailand. The sample population is the employees of the
Bank of Thailand in Bangkok Metropolis of grade 2 to grade 7 from 23 sections
totaling 351 persons. The data was collected using questionnaire. Statistics used were
percentage, mean score, standard deviation, t-test and One-Way Analysis of Variance.
Summary of the Research results:
1. The sample population was mostly female employees with a
Bachelors Degree, married and occupying the post of senior analysts of the section
working in financial departments. Most of them have worked in the Bank of Thailand
less than 15 years with monthly income of 20,001- 30,000 Baht.
2. The sample population was fully informed of the structural
reorganization of the Bank of Thailand.
3. Most of the sample population supports both before and after the
structural reorganization, of all five aspects at moderate level. They are:
duties and responsibilities, job security, remuneration, welfare and comforts,
atmosphere and environment at work; and chain of command.
Suggestions from the results of research:
The Bank of Thailand must encourage the employees to develop working
skills, encourage education and develop the personnel in each work unit to have
knowledge and ability in systematic work and put them into practice in real working
conditions to develop efficiency in work after the structural reorganization. Besides,
the Bank must give increased opportunity to employees at all levels to express their
opinions or attitudes in matters concerning the structural reorganization
