Abstract:
Currently, the internet is a network that can offer unlimited means of
communication. Web sites are tools which centralize communication and this makes it
convenient for users to access one another and communicate. So, web sites are ideal
for alumni who want to stay in contact.
The objective of this research was to create and develop a dynamic web-based
service that responds to alumni requirements and accommodates them in creating
alumni web sites. This system develops the necessary modules for alumni in creating
those sites.
The first step of research consisted of surveying alumni requirements by
questionnaire from 25 samplings, analyzing data and assessing the alumni
requirements. The design and development of the web system and database was based
on alumni requirements determined by the survey. The efficiency and ability of the
system was tested and evaluated by multiple users and the results are includes in this
research document.
The results showed that alumni have the opportunity to create their own private
websites more easily by becoming registered member in this web service. Members
can use all modules such as member information, webboard, gossip and gallery.
Alumni can use this system effectively to centralize communication and to exchange
information between members.
The key technologies used for this s y s t em a r e PHP and MySQL.
MySQL can stores very complex information. PHP can perform very complicated
manipulations of data. PHP provides the application part of the alumni website while
MySQL provides the database part of the alumni website.
The outcome of this research is a perfect dynamic web-based service that was
developed to serve alumni on the web. All modules were designed and implemented to
serve alumni and responded the alumni requirements
