The development of teachers' networks for self-development concerning the learning process of students under Phranakhonsiayutthaya educational service area office 1 and 2
Abstract:
This research studied factors related to the building of teachers networks,
process models and the approaches to developing teachers networks for self-
development the learning process of students. The population was 5 teachers
networks under Phranakhonsiayutthaya Educational Service Area Office 1 and 2. Two
groups were identified, i.e. keyman/ network administrators and their members.
Instruments for data collection were in-depth interviews, group discussion and non-
participatory observation involving the background, factors and development process
of the teachers networks.
It was found from the investigation that there were 6 factors involved in
forming a network, i.e. having strong keymen, a good grouping of members, having
common goals, coordination with insiders and outsiders, having shared activities and
exchanges of learning and resource mobility. Findings were that having strong
keymen turned other factors more effective. It led to voluntary grouping, and
evidently and usefully led to implementation of objectives or goals of members.
Prevailing public relations work led to effective coordination among members and
with outsiders. This made the network well-supported and assisted from outsiders.
There were activities regularly and consistently organized to develop members and
allow learning exchanges. There was shared fund raising and budgeting to improve the
networks funds. The process models of developing the teachers networks were
network formulation, linkage, network expansion and network existence. It was found
from the study that the process models, acted factors as a mechanism leading to the
process of achievement. Support form the government and local area affected the
development of a teaching network in different ways. It was found in the study that
building understanding and arousing the teachers interest were indispensable. Related
organizations were important in the successful development of a teaching network.
A network affects the self-development of teachers and the organizing of a quality
learning process for students.
