Abstract:
The ring opening of epoxy ester of anthracene adducts 75 and 118 by primary
amines provided β-hydroxy-γ-butyrolactam adducts 173 and β-hydroxy fused bicyclic
lactone-lactam adducts 187. Flash vacuum pyrolysis of these compounds provided
several biologically active α-methylene derivatives.
