Abstract:
The purposes of this study were : 1) To compare the learning achievement between the students who learned through mind mapping activities and the students who learned through traditional activities. 2) To compare the attitude towards biology between the students two learned through mind mapping activities and the students who learned through traditional activities.
The samples were 60 of the fourth level : secondary education grade 10 students, taken during the second semester of the academic year 2005, in Khuruphachasan School. The samples was sampling into two group, 30 students in an experimental group and controlled group each. The experimental group learned through mind mapping While the controlled group learned through traditional activities in the same topics of biology. The instruments in this study were the lesson plans of mind mapping activities, the lesson plans of traditional activities, achievement test and attitude towards biology test. The statistical techniques employed in analysis of data were means, standard deviation and t - test for independent samples.
The results were as the following :
1. The learning achievement of the students in the experimental group was higher significantly than students in the controlled group. (p<0.01)
2. The attitude towards biology of the students in the experimental group was better significantly than the students in the controlled group. (p<0.01)
