Abstract:
This research was aimed to study the Quality of Life according to Sufficiency Economy and the Quality of Work Life of the Employees of Hana Semiconductor (Bangkok) Company Limited, as well as to find the relation between the Quality of Life according to Sufficiency Economy and the Quality of Work Life classified by personal factors. The sample group comprised 295 employees of Hana Semiconductor (Bangkok) Company Limited. The questionnaire was used as a tool to gather data. The statistics that were applied to the data analysis included Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Z - Test, One - Way ANOVA and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient by setting the statistical significance at the level of 0.05.
Findings : The employees of Hana Semiconductor (Bangkok) have largely practiced, in overall aspects, the Quality of Life according to Sufficiency Economy. Upon considering individually, it was found that Moderation, Reasonableness and Moral Principles had been adopted and followed at the high level while Self - Immunity at the moderate level. The personal factor that has statistically significant effects on the Quality of Life in accordance with Sufficiency Economy is Educational Level.
The employees of Hana Semiconductor (Bangkok) are satisfied with the Quality of Work Life at the moderate level. Upon considering each of the aspects, it was found that Remuneration, Job Security and Advancement, Work Safety and Environment, Intra - Firm Relationship and Social Response (Welfare) had achieved the employees satisfaction at the moderate level. The personal factors that have statistically significant effects on the Quality of Work Life are Age, Educational Level and Marital Status.
The study also found the statistically significant relation between the Quality of Life according to Sufficiency Economy and the Quality of Work Life of the Employees of Hana Semiconductor (Bangkok).
Recommendations : To enhance the Quality of Life in accordance with Sufficiency Economy, an expenditure-planning campaign should be conducted to encourage the employees to steer clear of (cut back on/ refrain from/ quit) alcohol & drug abuse and vice, additionally ; an exercise program should be organized for the employees to get fit, healthy and strong. About the Quality of Work Life, it is advisable to provide additional social welfare programs for the benefit of the employees, organize recreational activities to establish a good rapport in the workplace, create a pleasant working environment in which productivity should flourish, instill the sense of loyalty to the organization into the employees, and assure the employees of their job security as well as of good opportunities for advancement.
