Abstract:
The opjectives of this study were to investigate the strength levels of the Saving Group Network of Buriram Urban Community, to compare the factors affecting the strengths of the Saving Group Network of Buriram Urban Community classifying by the levels of the group strengths, and to study the factors that indicated the strength of the Saving Group Network of Buriram Urban Community. The population were 17 groups of the Saving Group Network of Buriram Urban Community. The sample were the Saving Groups that were qualified with the 3-level criteria for measuring the strength levels of the community organisations. The sample were selected through purposive sampling techniques by selecting one group from each of the three strength levels i.e. string level, moderate level, and weak level, while the sample of the committee and members were selected by using the Krcejcie and Morgans table to make the total number of 332 people. The instruments used for comparing the different of the factors affecting the strengths of the saving groups with different strength levels were the questionnaires together with interviewing the committee and members. The statistics used in data analysis were the frequencies, percentage, the One-way ANOVA, and the paired-analysis of differences by means of Least Significant Difference (LSD) at the significant level of .05, and .01. The results of the study were: 1. The strength levels of the Saving Group Network of Buriram Urban Community were 4 groups from the strong level, 6 groups from the moderate level and 7 groups from the weak level; 2. The results of the comparison of the factors affecting the strengths of the Saving Group Network of Buriram Urban Community classifying by the levels of the group strengths were as follows: the status as the community organizations concerning the mutual benefits and the mutual ideal were different at the significant level of .01; while the knowledge concerning the regulations were different at the significant level of .05; the factors concerning the members, the member involvement, the disciplines of the members, the factors concerning the arrangement of the learning process, the procedure for obtaining the committee members, the arranging of the floor for educating the members, and the factors concerning the subports received from outsiders (scholarships/training/fieldtrip/lesson conclusion) were different at the significant level of .05; the factors concerning the community organization, the time consuming for setting up the Saving Groups, the factors concerning the learning processes, were not different; the factors concerning the leadership, the human relations of the leaders were different at the significant level of .05; the factors concerning the democracy, the responsibility, the involvement, the creation, the amount of training, the transparency and the sacrifice of the committee were not different; and 3. The factors that indicate the strength levels of the Saving Group Network included the factors concerning the status as the community organizations, the mutual benefits, the mutual ideal, the factors concerning the members, the member involvement, the disciplines of the factors concerning the leaderships, the human relations of the leaders, the factors concerning the procedure for learning processes, the processes for obtaining the committee, the floor for educating the members, and the factors concerning the supports received from outsiders (scholarships/training/fieldtrip/lesson conclusion)
