Abstract:
The objectives of this survey research was to study the needs of community leaders and parents towards vocational education management in schools under the Office of Surin Municipality. The samples of this study were classified according to status of respondents who were the community leaders and the parents. This was to study opinions, problems and suggestions of those whose residences were in Surin municipal area. Data obtained were applied in educational development planning. These sample random sampling. Instruments used in data collecting ware questionnaires and interview forms. SPSS/PC+ computer program was applied in the data analysis. Statistics used were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The reliability was 0.95
Research Findings:
The overall needs of the leaders and the parent towards the management of vocational education of Surin Municipality according to their opinions were at high level in 4 aspects of readiness, needed programs, schools locality, and participation need. When considered guidelines of the management in each individual aspect, it revealed that the leaders opinions were at high level and the highest level was that the municipality should support educational scholarships in order to motivate the leaders and the parents to send more of their children into vocational studies. In the aspect of vocational programs most needed, almost every program was needed. In the aspect of locality, a new locality should be provided or the studies could be arranged in Tesabarn 3 (Tesabarnusorn) School, concerning its wide area which could later be expanded. In the aspect of participation need according to the opinions of the leaders and the parents, vocational education management in Surin municipality should be supported. In relation to this, the most important problem was in Surin Municipalitys readiness for the management of such vocational education. Details relation this should be widely informed throughout communities in general.
