Abstract:
This research was descriptive research. The purposes were to analyze the Saneh Chamariks thoughts on community education for sustainable development. The researcher spent 10 months for collecting data, analyzing data, and reporting procedures. The data collection was done through non-participant observation, formal and informal interview and documentary study.
The research results were as follows.
Saneh Chamariks thoughts on community education for sustainable development were the integrated and systematic concept which emphasized on the community participation in both formal and non-formal education management. Beside, the concept also included the local wisdom for community education management which can be applied as one of the community learning processes. There were 5 steps of the community education processes: co- thinking, co- planning, co- implementation, co- evaluation and co- benefit. Saneh Chamariks thoughts on community education for sustainable development related to the community participation concept for educational management, educational management for self-reliance, the use of local wisdom and community learning networks, self-learning enhancement of the community members, the integration of learning processes relating to community members life style, direct access of every target groups education, serve the needs of both individual and community, and using community-based in educational management.
