The enhancement of knowledge seeking ability and attitude of prathom suksa six students by using learning process from resources in the community and nature
Abstract:
To encourage the knowlegde seeking ability and attitude of prathom suksa six students by using learning process from resources in the community and nature. The subjects were 16 students of prathom suksa six in the academic year 2003 from Wat Hong Pathummawas school. The tools in this research included ; the learner's knowledge seeking ability's form, the learner's knowledge seeking attitude's form, the learner's learning behavior observation's form, and the learner's knowledge and opinion recording form. Data of the study were statistically analyzed by using percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and ttest. The results were as follows 1. The post-test arithmetic mean score of the students' knowledge seeking ability was higher than the pre test at the .05 level of significance. For the students knowledge seeking ability that shown while learning from resources were ; most of the students followed the agreement while in resources, followed learning plan, exchanged the knowledge and the opinions among friends in group. Willingly and enthusiastically did the assignment together. Respectfully paid attention to listening to the lecture and joined the activities as plan in the high level. For the student's knowledge seeking ability that shown while doing the searching activity after learning from resources were ; most of the students presented knowledge that they took a note, then they summarized and compiled the knowledge together. Most students fixed the key words presented them from the resource and the lecture and raised the issues for searching that lead to the new learning but not too variety. Able to explain the issues but the writing still not combine very well with the issues. Able to estimate the results of the issues with the reasons presenting and not showing any opinion about the issues and the result estimations. In addition, most students presented the searching methods only they had already used. Able to make a plan for searching knowledge and assigned members' duties suited their aptitude. Only if they searched following their own desire. After that, most students analyzed the relations of all data and the issues that they had raised. Able to wrote summary of all knowledge from the analysis with an order of the searching issues. Finally most of the students shown their opinions about the recently searching experience like a simply assignment. 2.The post-test arithmetic mean score of the students' knowledge seeking attitude was higher than the pre-test at the .05 level of significance. The students' knowledge seeking attitude after the activities was in the high level. For the students' knowledge seeking attitude that shown while learning from resources were ; everyone was properly dressed, respectfully greeted, farewell to the lecture, and having fun while learning, in the high level. For students' opinion about joined with these learning activities were ; they think they discovered more knowledge, had a chance to work as a team with new friends, reality activities. Thought working as a team was fun even though there were some arguments but all assignments done well. Also helping each other was a good practice for unity and get all the assignments done. For the feeling toward the activities was fun, enjoyable, glad to have an opportunity to join these activities and feel that all the knowledge and experiences that they got are valuable.
