Employees' attitudes toward the performance appraisal system : a case study of Bank for Agricultural Co-Coperatives provincial office Nakhon Si Thammarat
Abstract:
This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the performance appraisal
system of Bank for agriculture and agricultural Co-Coperatives provincial office Nakhon
Si Thammarat, to compare the employees attitude toward performance appraisal
according to personnel factors, and to explore the correlation between the assessors
characteristic and acknowledgewent perceived in appraisal system to the attitude of the
officers in appraisal. The subject consisted of 183 employees. Questionnaire was used
to collect the data. Descriptive statistics were used to compute the percentage, means
and standard deviation, along with t-tests, f-tests, and Least Significant Difference
(LSD).
The results indicated that: (1) In achieving the companys mission, Bank for
agriculture and agricultural Co-Coperatives provincial office Nakhon Si Thammarat uses
the performance appraisal system in order to adjust the work practice of the
organization, department, and the officers. In addition, feedback, consensus, and
agreed upon work objectives. By this method, the employees had a chance to develop
and manipulate their knowledge and skill to meet the companys mission. (2) Different
appraisers characteristics, such as gender, age, education, work experience, and
income did not relate to the attitudes toward the performance appraisal. (3) The relationship between the appraisers individual differences, such as age, gender,
education, woke experience and income did not related, and the attitudes toward the
performance appraisal was statistically significant at the level of 0.05. (4) The
relationship between the appraisal system and the attitudes toward the performance
appraisal system was statistically significant at the level of 0.01.
