Abstract:
The purpose of this independent study was to study 1) the level of motivation at work of employees and officers at Thailand Post company Limited in Surat Thani Provice 2) to study the comparison between the level of motivation at work of employees and officers who have different individual factors at Thailand Post Company Limited in Surat Thani Province and 3) to study the relation between motivation at work and response to core corporate culture of employees and officers at Thailand Post Company Limited in Surat Thani Province. The research population was 261 employees and officers. The research tool was a set of questionnaires to collect the data by using Likerts scale to specify the opinion level in the highest, high, medium, little and the least. The data was analyzed by determining the percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and F-test in one-way analysis of variance compared by Scheffes method and using multiple correlation coefficients.
The results of this study are:
1. Most employees and officers at Thailand Post Company Limited in Surat Thani Province had an average of high motivation at work in the following items ranging from the highest to the least:- work achievement, work acceptance and admiration by others, career advancement, work responsibility and work itself.
2. Employees and officers at Thailand Post Company Limited in Surat Thani Province who have different individual factors in work position, have different levels of motivation at work in work achievement, work acceptance and admiration by others, work itself and career advancement. Employees have more motivation at work in work itself than temporary officers. Permanent officers and employees have more motivation at work in career advancement than temporary officers with the statistical significance at 0.05 level.
3. Motivation at work in work achievement and response to core corporate culture in service mindedness, faithfulness, result orientation, urgency and change readiness were related in positive ways with the statistical significance at 0.01 level.
