Abstract:
The objective of this research was to study the resolutions of Buddhadasa Bhikku and the way to peace according to the resolutions of Buddhadasa Bhikku. The research design was documentary research by collecting the data from primary and secondary sources. As for primary sources, the researcher studied the original works of Buddhadasa Bhikku, which included dharma literature and records of his preachings. Regarding secondary sources, the researcher studied relevant articles that were written by scholars who studied Buddhadasa Bhikkus concept ( a total of 43 articles). In addition, these articles were approved by three religious specialists. Then the researcher analyzed data by content analysis and categorization. It was found that the resolutions of Buddhadasa Bhikku originated in 2475 B.E., and Mokkhaplaram Religion Practice Garden was also established in this year. After that, the formal preachings and records of preachings were presented in 2529 B.E. The three resolutions and important purposes were as follows: 1) to deeply understand the principles of their religion. The purpose of this wish is to encourage religious followers to understand deeply about the essential principles of their religion. This could destroy selfishness and promote loving-kindness toward other people; 2) to create better understanding among various faiths. This purpose concerns good relationships among all religions in the world. Different beliefs can exist together without conflict, and adherents can do activities which support world peace together. They have to understand and respect each other; 3) To be free from the tyranny of materialism. This purpose is to live in the world consciously. Followers should not be dominated by materialism. In conclusion, all three resolutions have mutual natures. These are to destroy selfishness and promote loving-kindness. The analytical result of this study showed Buddhadasa Bhikku believed that peace begins with the humans mind (Inner Peace) which is personal. Then, this peace propagates to the world outer (Outer Peace). Humans will experience peace which results from emptiness of attachment to I and mine. When they have a peaceful mind, all things that they are involved with, such as the social dimension, economy, politics, etc., will appear peaceful.
