Media exposure, cosmopoliteness, attitude toward, and the change of way of life of hilltribe people (AKHA), at Doi Mae Salong, amphoe Mae Fahluang, Chiang Rai province
Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to investigate the correlations between media exposure, cosmopoliteness, attitude toward and the change of way of life of hilltribe people (Akha), at Doi Mae Salong, Amphoe Maechan and Amphoe Maefahluang, Chiang Rai Province. Questionnairs were used to collect data from a total of 364 samples. Frequency, percentage, mean, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson' product moment correlation coefficient, and Multiple Regresstion Analysis were employed for the analysis of the data. SPSS Program was used for data processing. The results of the study were as follows : 1. Media Exposure correlate with cosmopoliteness. 2. Media Exposure correlate with attitude toward the change of way of life. 3. Media Exposure correlate with the change of way of life. 4. cosmopoliteness correlate with attitude toward the change of way of life. 5. cosmopoliteness correlate with the change of way of life. 6. Attitude toward the change of way of life correlate with the change of way of life correlate with the change of way of life. 7. Difference in location, the expected number of children, religion and occupation were different in the change of way of life. Difference in sex, age, education and income were not different in the change of way of life. 8. When Multiple Regression Analysis was employed, it was found that Buddhism, rice farming, the expected number of children, exposure to radio, attitude toward the change of way of life, NGO officers, education and exposure to newspaper could respectively explain the way of life.
