A development of a local curriculum on a local celebrities in the Life Experiences Area for prathom suksa six students in schools under the jurisdiction of the Office of the National Primary Education Commission in northeastern region
Abstract:
Develops a local curriculum of Life Experiences Area featuring on local celebrities who are respected by citizens in northeastern region. 6 categories of local celebrites are as : 1) celebrities in Politics & Administration, 2) celebrities in Education, 3) celebrities in Agriculture, 4) celebrities In Arts & Culture, 5 celebrities in Religion, and 6) celebrities in Sports. The research was done by Prathom Suksa six students in schools under the jurisdiction of the Office of the National Primary Education Commission in northeastern region. Result of the local curriculum development: 1. Stages in curriculum development are as the following: 1) The pupils collect basic data by interviewing community citizens the information of local celebrities along with searching for other additional data within community resources. 2) From the data gained, teachers choose are the first three nominators into name-lists of each category. After that their biographies in brief are brought to build up the course. 3) Curriculum planning is made by assembling its paper-works and complementaries. Academics then assessed the course's completion. 4) The curriculum test and assessment are done by trying it to Prathom Suksa Six students who are the subjects, and 5) The curriculum improvement is done. 2. Result of the local curriculum implementation: 2.1 Name-Lists of the local celebrities used as the content are as the following: 1) Politics and Administration: General Chartchai Choonhawan, Mr.Charubutra Roengsuwan, and Mr.Prachuab Chaisarn. 2) Education: Professor Dr.Kaw Sawasdipanich, Professor Boonthin Atthagara, and Associate Professor Thongkoon Hongsapan. 3) Agriculture: Mr.Suk Chanacnai, Mr.Chali Malasaeng, and Mr.Pradit Kumpoempoon. 4) Arts & Culture : Mr.Kummar Saeng-ngaam, Mr.Thongmak Chantalue, and Mr.Thongmi Malai. 5) Religion: Phra Ratcha Visudhi Sophon (Luangta Maha Bua Yanasumpanno), Phra Yanna Vidhayakom Thera (Luangpoh Koon Parisudhtho), and Phra Arvchan Mun Phurithatto. 6) Sports: Mr.Somrak Kumsingha, Mr.Samson Duthboygym, and Mr.Ratanapon Sor. Vorrapin. 2.2 After trial stage, the result was found that: 1) the learning achievement of every subject is at the average standard assigned at 70 percent.2) the learning achievement of the subjects before and after the test are different according to statistical mean at the level of .05, 2.3 Students indicate their high levle satisfaction concerning the content, learning and teaching activities including teaching aids. According to the students' opinion, the content they learned made them feeling proud of being "I-Sarn" people. They felt strongly attached to the "I-Sarn" locality.
