Abstract:
The objectives of this research are: 1) to study the needs of teaching management of teachers of High Schools in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, 2) to study methods for teaching management based on the Four Noble Truths for teachers of High Schools in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, and 3) to propose the guidelines for teaching management based on the Four Noble Truths for teachers of High Schools in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. This research is a mixed method research. The quantitative data were collected by questionnaire from 217 samples consisting of school administrator and teachers and analyzed by mean, standard deviation and the need index. The qualitative data were collected by semi-structured interviews from 8 key-informants and analyzed by content analysis.
The research results were found that:
1. The state of needs of teaching management of teachers of High Schools in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province overall was at a high level overall. The details in descending order started with Curriculum (PNI modified = 0.71), followed by Teaching and learning management (PNI modified = 0.54), Measurement and evaluation (PNI modified = 0.42), Teaching and learning media (PNI modified = 0.40) and Teachers (PNI modified = 0.36), respectively.
2. The methods of teaching management based on the Four Noble Truths for teachers of High Schools in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province are as follows: 2.1) In curriculum, the curriculum should be improved with up-to-date quality, suitable to the learners levels and create curriculum with a focus on critical thinking and problem solving relevant to situations in daily life, 2.2) In teaching and learning management, good environment should be built to provide opportunity for students in learning and activity to support students to understand the causes of problems and ways to solve the problems, 2.3) In measurement and evaluation, it should be adjusted to suit students requirement and level, standard, reliable and efficient evaluation tool should be used, the results of measurement and evaluation should be used for improving teaching and learning management and students should participate in measurement and evaluation process for their learning development, 2.4) In teaching and learning media, the media should be suitable to students level, relevant to learning objectives and applicable to situations, and 2.5) Teachers, the teachers should understand mental conditions of students in order to adjust their teaching suitable to students and assist students to understand the causes of problems, set the aim and plan in problem solving and solve the problems systematically.
3. The guidelines for teaching management based on the Four Noble Truths for teachers of High Schools in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province are as follows: 3.1) In curriculum, place a focus on development of students attitude, selection of the course contents relevant to the objectives, creating activity strengthening attitude, contents supporting learning, activity relating to the real situation in order that students can apply it in their daily life, 3.2) In teaching and learning management, to create variety of activity based on difference of students, students have participation in learning process, building valuable and effective learning experience relevant to the principles of the Four Noble Truths that reduce suffering and increase happiness in learning, 3.3) In measurement and evaluation, to collect and evaluate information for understanding the progress and development of students and the tool should be suitable to the learning objective, 3.4) In teaching and learning media, to choose and use effective media, adjust the media suitable to learning environment and students level, and to choose and use various and qualified media to motivate learning and achieve learning proficiency, and 3.5) Teachers, teachers should understand requirement and metal status of students in order to adjust their teaching methods, create comfortable and interesting atmosphere in learning and support students in morality and mental values according to the AKVGMS Model.
