Abstract:
This research aimed to explore the level of Sufficiency Economy and approaches for upgrading the level of Sufficiency Economy in Ko Kret Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Nonthaburi Province. The research employed qualitative methodology, collecting data from related documents, interviews, focus group discussion, and the authors observations. Thirty-six samples obtained through
purposive sampling were administrators, government officers, and employees of Ko Kret Subdistrict Administrative Organization, community leaders, local scholars, and community members. Qualitative and quantitative data were analyzed using the framework of the systematic analysis of Sufficiency Economy, and twelve indicators were applied to evaluate the level of Sufficiency Economy of the organization. Data triangulation was conducted to verify the findings and results were presented descriptively.
The results revealed that the level of Sufficiency Economy in Ko Kret Subdistrict
Administrative Organization was at the comprehension level implying that the organization operated under the promotion of happiness in the workplace. As a result, the organization earned a score of 251 out of 300. The approach for upgrading the level of Sufficiency Economy of the organization was to meet all indicators required for being a happy organization and to improve the scores in the indicators 10.1, 10.3, 11.1, 12.1, and 12.2 covering the management of education and cultural learning resources,
advanced waste management, the development of natural resources and environment, and the resolution of social problems. The research also recommended the enhancement of public participation by raising the public awareness of what directly affects their living. The Chief Executive of Ko Kret Subdistrict Administrative Organization was recommended to encourage more participations among all sectors involved including all informal networks in the community.
