Abstract:
Objectives of this dissertation were: 1. To study the drug addict rehabilitation administration of Wat Thamkrabok Phrabuddhabat District, Saraburi Province, 2. To study the factors affecting the drug addict rehabilitation administration of Wat Thamkrabok Phrabuddhabat District, Saraburi Province and 3. To propose the application of Buddha-dhamma to develop the drug addict rehabilitation administration of Wat Thamkrabok Phrabuddhabat district, Saraburi Province.
Methodology was the mixed methods: The quantitative research, data were collected from 123 by simple random sampling from the populations of 180 people who were the addicts. The tool used for data collection was 5 rating scales questionnaires with the reliability value at 0.972. The statistics used were Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, SD. and Multiple Regression. The qualitative research, data were collected by in-depth interviewing 18 key informants and 9 participants in focus group discussion. The data were analyzed by content descriptive interpretation.
Findings were as follows:
1. The drug addict rehabilitation administration of Wat Thamkrabok Phrabuddhabat District, Saraburi Province was found that the operational factors by overall were at high level (x̅= 4.03), all aspects also were at high level, Iddhibāda 4 by overall were at high level (x̅= 4.02), all aspects also were at high level and the development of drug addict rehabilitation administration of Wat Thamkrabok Phrabuddhabat District, Saraburi Province by overall was at high level (x̅= 4.04), all aspect were also at high level.
2. The operational factors that affected the drug addict rehabilitation administration of Wat Thamkrabok Phrabuddhabat District, Saraburi Province at the statistically significant level of 0.01 sorted in ascending order by Man, Management, Money and Materials and then could together explain the variations up to 66.90% accepted first hypothesis. The factors of Iddhibāda 4 affected the drug addict rehabilitation administration of Wat Thamkrabok Phrabuddhabat District, Saraburi Province at the statistically significant level of 0.01 sorted in ascending order by Canda, Viriya, Vimaṁsā and Citta and then could together explain the variations up to 84.20% accepted second hypothesis. The operational factors and Iddhibāda 4 affected the drug addict rehabilitation administration of Wat Thamkrabok Phrabuddhabat District, Saraburi Province at the statistically significant level of 0.01 sorted in ascending order by operational factors and Iddhibāda 4 and then could together explain the variations up to 66.90% accepted third hypothesis.
3. The application of Buddha-dhamma for development of drug addict rehabilitation administration of Wat Thamkrabok Phrabuddhabat District, Saraburi Province was integration between operational factors and Iddhibāda 4 to develop the drug addict rehabilitation administration in 3 aspects included 1) Physical rehabilitation included doing a daily routine, taking pills and cutting pills, baking herbs regularly, organizing activities for patients to exercise and rehabilitate the patient's body through service activities, 2) Mental rehabilitation included practicing meditation to train the mind regularly, doing daily prayers, organizing activities to listen to sermons on a regular basis, educating about benefits or the dangers of drugs, problems and solutions, organizing recreational activities for patients to relax their minds and 3) Occupation promotion included promoting morality in the practice of livelihood, training for such occupations as ceramics making, construction, agriculture, etc., promoting careers according to each person's aptitude, providing knowledge for honest career and promoting the development of patients to have a career after rehabilitation.
