The Development of Learning Management Based on The Multilingual Concept Using the Mother Tongue with Task Based Language Teaching to Strengthen English Listening and Speaking Skills for Lahu Tribe Students in Grade 3
Abstract:
The objectives of this study were to develop the lesson plan based on the multilingual concept using the mother tongue with Task Based Language Teaching for students on grade 3, to compare English listening and speaking skills of students after learning activities, and to assess satisfaction of students. The sample group consisted of 16 students in grade 3 of Kamon-Ream Sukoson (Banphatai) school, Maeai district, Chiangmai province obtained through the purposive sampling method. The research instruments were lesson plan based on the multilingual concept using the mother tongue with Task Based Language Teaching for students on grade 3, English listening test, English speaking test, and satisfaction assessment form. The data were analyzed for mean, standard deviation, and the t-test. The research results revealed that the lesson plan based on the multilingual concept using the mother tongue with Task Based Language Teaching consisting of 5 plans, 3 hours each plan, total 15 hours had the propriety of the measurement and evaluation was at the high level.The mean of English listening and speaking test of the participating students was higher that was significantly at the 0.01 level. And the satisfaction of this research among students in Grade 3 with activities based on the multilingual concept using the mother tongue with Task Based Language Teaching was at a high level.
