Abstract:
The purposes of this research aimed to study work stress of medical representative
in Bangkok and to study relationship between the general data factors, working factors, driving
risk behaviors and work stress of medical representative in Bangkok with the incidence of
medical representative in a pharmaceutical company in Bangkok. The sampling in this research
was medical representative of a pharmaceutical company in Bangkok consists of 103 persons.
The data collected by questionnaires. The statistical tools used for data analysis were frequency,
percentage, median, mean, standard deviation, t-test and Chi-square.
The result of research found that medical representative samplings were female to
male ratio was 2.12 : 1, average of age 38 years old, bachelor degrees educational (80.58%),
average of experience 9.93 years, sale representative mostly were no congenital disease (79.61%),
average number of sleep hours on a work day was 6 hours and mostly used to almost an incidence
(Near miss) (38.83%). Overall, medical representatives work stress at a low level, by low
demand had at a low level (37.86 percentages) and found that sale representative had active job
by the job control had at a high level (62.12 percentages) and found that the general data factors
such as age, working experience and the average number of sleep hours in the work day had
significantly relationship with traffic incidence among of medical representative at 0.05 level of
confidence. The work factor such as the response working area, maximum periods driving to
clients on a day and the number of recently times for waiting clients had relationship with the
incidence occurrence of medical representative at 0.05 level of confidence. Meanwhile that, work
stress factors and social psychology factors such as the mental claims and the physical claims
factors had not significantly with traffic incidence among of medical representative.
Suggestions: medical representatives work stress may be meeting to a new problem for along times. So that supervisors should encourage medical representative who had
higher experience were transfer knowledge and experience for exchange learning and guideline
for solve the stress among problems to medical representative who had lower experience.
