Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to examine and compare a level of work motivation
among personnel working for Chachoengsao Municipality. The population participating in this study
was 205 employees working for Chachoengsao Municipality. The instrument used to collect the data
was a questionnaire. The statistical tests used to analyze the collected data included frequency,
percentage, mean, standard deviation, and a test of One-Way ANOVA.
The results of the study were as follows:
1. It was shown that the level of work motivation among employees working for
Chachoengsao Municipality was at a high level. Specifically, the aspect of work motivation in relation
to the type of work was rated at the highest level, followed by the aspects of acceptance and respect,
responsibility, work achievement, and job advancement, respectively.
2. It was found that the aspect of work motivation relating to maintenance factors was
found at a high level. The subjects rated the factor relating to the relationship with co-workers with the
highest mean score, followed by the factors of personal condition, work condition, relationship with
supervisors, job security, administrative policy, quality of supervision, and salary, respectively.
3. Based on the comparison of work motivation as classified by gender, it was shown that
there was no statistically significant difference in the level of work motivation between male and female
subjects.
4. Based on the comparisons of the subjects age, income, marital status, educational level,
and type of personnel, it was shown that there was a statistically significant difference in the level of
work motivation among the subjects who had different amount of income at a significant level of .05.
